Ripening and Storage Info

Avocados typically take 7-14 days (after picking) to ripen at room temperature, eg in your fruit bowl at home.

If you order a box of mixed ripeness, half of your fruit will have been picked 3-5 days earlier, so that you can enjoy your box of avocados over a longer time.

You can store unripe avocados in the fridge, and them take them out when you want them to finish ripening - this way you can make your fruit last even longer, although the eating quality of these may not be quite as good as fruit left to ripen out of the fridge.

Best way to extend the eating time - when your avocado is just ripe, place in the fridge and it will be good to eat for another 3-4 days.

Please note ! ripening times are not an exact science - it depends on the stage of the season, and the conditions/time of year for ripening. We have given the suggestions above as a guideline so you can manage for yourself how many avocados you have at the ripeness you like to eat them.
